I would suggest you to have a quick look at bodine's essay book. ts really good and will tell you how to go on with your essays. It wont take much time to read, just give it a try.

The 500 word limit can be pretty tight depending on the topic of the essay. Try and work out the 'message' that you are trying to convey via each essay. For instance, in a leadership essay with a 500 word limit, you may want to demonstrate some aspects of leadership by talking about some anecdotes in your prior experiences. In which case, 500 words will give you an opportunity to write about two such instances at most.

The approach would be different for your goals essay, where 500 words is not much to describe a *lot* of things. There is a document on this forum which gives some other good tips about essay writing. Also as trahul suggested, get the book.

Good luck.

Really struggling on these. Unfortunately I have to complete them by November 14. There are 5 at 500 words a piece.

Curious on most peoples process on writing the essays. Assume you are the point you know what you want to write about - how do you then approach the process? Do you write an outline? Or just start writing?
