Hey Everyone,

I wish to apply for my mba by the end of this year and specifically eyeing on NUS, NTU, SMU and ISB in India.

i wanted t garner insights on the essay for the same. what should be the style of writing?

what must be highlighted strongly in the essays?

Also if anyone wishes to share their old essays, it would be great.

Tackling application essays for business school is a daunting process - but once you start to think about the big picture and jot some ideas down, it won't seem so scary!

Before sitting down and actually writing the essays, start reflecting on your life (think back, way back - not just current examples). And ask yourself:
-What are my strengths and weaknesses, accomplishments, and failures?
-Why get an MBA at this moment in my career?
-Why this MBA in particular?
-What will I add to the student and alumni community? (Think of your hobbies, passions, extra curricular activities)
-What is my career vision? Short term and long term plan.
-What are my values and those of the school? Is this school a good cultural fit for me?

I'm sure these kinds of questions will be asked in your application essays. Taken together, the essay package should give the admissions committee a sense of you as a rounded person; not just what you do for a living, or what you do for fun. They should make admissions want to learn more about you and invite you for an interview. Tell a story and pick a few themes in your life - and stick to these themes throughout your essays. Prove to them that you are self-aware, honest and have a great sense of what a stint at business school will mean for both you and the community of which you will become a part.
