ESSEC MiM 2015 Intake

Question

Hi Everyone,

Anyone admitted to ESSEC for their Masters in Management for 2015?
I got an admit this month.. And I can't see any active groups or threads around.. So I thought this is a good way to get in touch and make the most of it..

Hey, I have applied to essec. What are the interview questions that you faced? Any case studies? Do they except you to know anything about economics and General matters?

Hi Gaurav,

Please find below some pointers on my experience of the ESSEC's interview process.

1) Interview is a very important process in ESSEC's admission process. The aim of the school is to determine whether you're fit for the school and to check if you believe that the school will be a good fit for you.

2) ESSEC prefers someone with about 6 months of experience. But it is not mandatory. If you have a good attitude and clear thoughts with good academics and extra-curricular exposure, decent GMAT score and well written recommendation motivation letters, there shouldn't be any problem.

3) I was asked questions like "Why do you want to study in France?", "Why ESSEC?", "Why MiM?", and some other basic questions.

4) Apart from that they spent a good amount of time on questions related to my work. (Here they checked how much I could contribute to my organization and my motivation, future ambitions, etc)
Note: I am from a French Banking background so some topics did touch upon financial matters, etc. But I don't think they will ask any particular questions on finance unless you tell them that you want to take the "Financial Reporting" or some finance related chair at ESSEC. Remember, ESSEC has many chairs and they might want to know if you are interested in any of the chairs. So do good research on this. Though, its not necessary to do any of these specializations. So, if you're undecided, please be honest about it.

5) They also spent some time making sure that I will be able to adapt to a new culture. And that I am open minded with regards to opportunities.

6) Answering your first question, I wasn't given any case studies, but it may depend on your work/academic background if they want to do it.

Suggestions:

- It's an important asset to know about the school in detail.
- You can watch their videos on "Campus Channel" and "ESSEC Business School" channels on YouTube.
- Read the ESSEC website COMPLETELY. It has some very important information.
- Be HONESTand have clarity of thought when you're interacting.

I finished my interviews with SAI schools and Essec too. The interview went well and were the same questions you pointed out. Can you post your profile and also tell the initial deposit amount to be paid to essec?

Tell me about your work experience, while concentrating on the skills you learned from it.
Tell me how will you contribute towards the development of the school.
What are some of the things that you expect to learn at ESSEC?

Well the interview went really well, and i really liked the panel. They were very friendly and encouraging. They also seemed genuinely interested to find the best candidate for their school.
