Thank you so much for the response, carcass I felt a bit relieved.

Usually, when a conglomerate buys a test, it does not change consistently. It depends.

However, to have a makeover you need years of testing and so on, so I do not think.

For example, in January, the TOEFL has had a huge change in two sections and now is a CAT exam per section. Such as the GRE itself.

Here a look into the new TOEFL https://www.toeflresources.com/practice ... nd-beyond/

In this scenario, someone may buy the GRE and TOEFL entirely, or just infuse fresh capital into ETS exams without buying 100% of the shares.

The TOEFL is unlikely to change much following the purchase. It just underwent a major change a few days ago. Indeed, those changes make it a much more attractive product to potential buyers since most of the test content is now AI-generated (including the voices). And the scoring is now wholly AI as well.

The GRE could change... but maybe that test is beyond saving at this point.

Thank you for sharing the information. But how does it influence the TOEFL test? Does the syllabus or the curriculum remain unchanged, or do we expect any changes to the scoring algorithum and cost to the test?

Pretty crazy. Saw it yesterday. Do we want to buy it? Crowdfund it?

This is interesting how a “non-profit” is selling the product for $500M.

I am wondering why anyone would want to waste invest $500M into the GRE and TOEFL?

It is a shrinking and money losing product... and it is imprecise as a test... but apparently someone is interested. Just baffling.

Totally agree to both. It is still quite relevant, especially in the emerging market, but as I pointed out in my other post, An outlook beyond 2026, if it is possible, about the GRE, it has taken a lot, for example, in China, due to many students no longer coming to the US because of the new administration and are seeking alternatives.

Moreover, its leaks as test are massive!! and it is not just rumors
