Hi all,
I've already taken the GMAT once and it was a disaster but I'm coming back stronger to defeat the beast...however, after spending 4 months on this test, I have some doubts about this test.
How come we are not supposed to know the calculation way. I am very surprised by this. I don't see why we would not be allowed to know how the final score is obtained. Of course I know that all of us will have a different way because it is an adaptive test so nobody should normally get the exact same structure or questions set. However, we should have some kind of clarification from ETS in the way of scoring.
We are candidates but I dont clearly understand why we should'nt be allowed to know how we are going to be evaluated...
In the same idea, I strongtly regret that you don't have any copy of your test (with your answers and the official answers) when you receive the official score. I dont see any logical reason in it except that they dont want everybody to know the questions. I am not sure the argument is so acceptable because everybody knows the general PS, DS etc... just the presentation of the problem is different and I am quite sure they can invent quite a lot of problems very fast
Because I don't see how they justify your score ? Moreover if you get a bad score you always want to know by yourself your errors....which is quite useful for the next attempt.
Finally, I am like everybody else, I just take this standardized test to get a score and try to apply for an MBA. I think this test is not so bad and a good challenge in fact, I like the questions but I just dislike the way it is administrated.
I precise that I don't write this post to protest against ETS or something like that, I just like clear and very straight data. Scoring methods and results are not really clear...
Good luck to all of you
