Dear Jon, I know it is a bit late now but still hope you can provide some help on R2 application… Here is my profile:
1) Brief description of your full-time work experience. What do you do?
I just quit my job in a high tech company after working for 4 years. It is the 2nd largest MNC in semiconductor industry located in Europe, Asia and US. I was working in the department of quality and customer enablement. My job involves half technical and half customer-related. I meet with customers from all around the world to understand their specific quality concern and discuss with technical team to solve these quality issues. I coordinated several major development projects and awarded because of the contribution. I have several publications, 1 of them during working. I still love my job. The reason I left is because the semiconductor industry is not in good picture and because my husband is working in US and I am here to join him.
2) Your GMAT.
GMAT 750. AWA 6.
3) College info: The name of the college, your GPA or grade average, your major, year of graduation. For any graduate degrees, please provide the same info. If you grades are low, please indicate if there were extenuating circumstances.
I got 2nd upper from NTU, Singapore (2005).
I got my PhD from same school (2013). It took 8 yrs because it was on a part-time after 4th year.
I was on full scholarship all the time since undergraduate time.
4) Significant college and post-college extra-curricular activities or community service, especially leadership experience.
Undergraduate: I joined many sports, arts and social activities in undergraduate. I travelled to 20+ countries since then.
Postgraduate: I was the main committee in graduate student welfare committee and in charge of sports and welfare events organization.
After school: I am in close contact with NTU and attend school event frequently, and invited to give speech in many occasions, including introducing NTU during recruitment event, industrial job introduction on career fair, and alumni reunion.
Social event: I am active in social charity event and leaded a few fund raisings events for natural disasters and personal disease. I am active in social clubs such as toastmaster club and travelling club. I am active in organizing social events including wedding, travelling abroad and also overseas trekking trip.
5) Important certifications like CFA, CPA, FSA, or CA.
No.
6) Your target programs. Please note that my experience is with the top MBA programs (FT, PT, EMBA, Sloan Fellows) around the world. If the programs you are targeting are not listed here, I may not respond due to lack of time.
I am targeting at full time MBA in marketing, finance or technology from top schools. I am facing difficulty to position myself in terms of specialization and school choosing. That is why I need your help.
7) When you plan to apply? Please specify round and application cycle, for example R1 2013-14 or R3 2012-13.
R2 2013-14.
8) Your post-MBA goal.
I will land a consultant job in marketing in technology related field. My ultimate goal is to have my own business. But it is not clear yet and I do not think I am well prepared.
Please let me know if you see any flaw in the profile and need your help on a clearer positioning of my application. Many thanks =)

Oh it is a bit late!!! I hope you aren't just STARTING now (although I guess if you work on them full time you might get some in on time!)
I think you should be able to apply to some pretty good schools, but I have two questions which I want to ask you first: 1. WHERE do you want to study? I assume since you moved to the US to be with your husband you have some geographical limitations? Is this true? If so, let me know. 2. Can you provide your GPA?
In the meanwhile, I'd suggest you get started working on things NOW!!!! You won't have much time at all….

Actually I have put everything together. But the difficult part is how to polish them. And I have stuck here for quite long. My target school is Kellogg and Chicago as I am now located in Missouri. On my list there is also MIT. If Kellogg and Chicago are already at my stretch I will definitely just do my best for these two and add some other less competitive ones. I put Olin in the list also as it is very close to my husband but definitely it is not first choice.
For GPA, as my school was on British system, I was only given that for 2nd upper degree my GPA is 4-4.49 range out of 5. According to wikipedia it might be equivalent to 3.33-3.67 for US GPA. My PhD GPA is 4.5 out of 5, But I am not sure whether it counts .
