For the first question, we can derive that it’s 1 boat as it’s explicitly stated Kashmir came after Jewel and therefore Jewel had to come before Kashmir.
From the given answer choices that reflect 1 as the first answer we have two options. Between answer choices A and D the former is the correct one as off the 8 boats, Spain had definitely come after Kashmir (line 4) and hence Ojibwa too after Kashmir as it came after Spain (line 5). Therefore, the maximum number of boats that could have come before Kashmir are 5 (7-2 excluding K) and cannot be 6, eliminating option D.

Here N and K can interchange position and so do K and T as it is not clear between K and T which arrived first or later.
Blue text holds the key to the asnwer.
