Hi,
Looking at scores of high percentile folks, looks like 51 is the number.
Do we get 51 questions in the official exam for each section?
When ppl report Q 51 / V 50 or whatever, did they clear every question? Or is it a scaled number, where I could incorrectly answer few questions and still be in the 51 range.
I am confused about the scoring I guess.
I started my prep but havent taken any tests yet, I want to go through the materials for good time [at least 1 month] before I plunge into tests.
Finally, how many total questions one can expect in Quant and Verbal, irrespective of score...

Hi bcrawl,
Yes, the scores on the GMAT are scaled scores. In quant you will see a total of 37 questions and in verbal 41 questions. Moreover, you need not get all the questions correct in order to achieve a perfect score.
