Can anyone else post or point me to other examples where 'being' is correct?
When I originally started studying, my PR instructor told me to ALWAYS consider being as incorrect... so after all these months of prep, I've lost some confidence in this area... before I used to simply spot the word 'being' and automatically deem it wrong, but now I'm not so sure...
Thanks,

Well, I am not sure you want to listen to you instructor any more Personally I saw the examples where 'being' is used in the right answer plenty of times. Indeed 'being' should rise a big red flag when you see it, but never eliminate the answer just because of it. It should be used as second tier elimination only, together with the passive voice, 'so as to' and others.
