Hi all

To those that have taken the EA for FT, what were your experiences like? I took the GMAT and scored a 615, and subsequently took a mock EA and scored a 157 with no additional prep.

I’m looking to apply to NYU and Columbia; from what I hear they look for a high 150 score. Would a 157 (assuming mock holds up to the actual) be competitive for these full time programs or should I aim for a 160+? For those that got into top programs FT and took the EA, what score did you guys report?
(FWIW I had a 3.4 on Management Information Systems so not sure if I need to balance out the slightly lower GPA with a higher score)

Hi @Blmba12345,

Your profile needs to present a unique blend of academic achievement, professional experience, and extracurricular involvement. Given your profile, NYU Stern and CBS remain strong targets. However, you should consider expanding your options to include schools that value a holistic candidate with a strong quantitative background and unique experiences.

While a 157 on the mock EA is respectable, aiming for a higher score can strengthen your application. However, focus on overall profile development rather than solely fixating on the EA score. A well-rounded application highlighting your strengths can compensate for a slightly lower EA score.

To maximize your chances of admission, consider the following:

Comprehensive Profile Evaluation: A detailed assessment of your entire application, including essays, recommendations, and resume, can provide valuable insights.
Personalized Application Guidance: Working with an MBA admissions consultant can help you craft a compelling narrative that highlights your unique qualifications.
Strategic Test-Taking: As you prepare for your EA, focus on areas where you can improve your score.
