Hi

I have done MD 5 years back, at present i am working as Medical Consultant in one of the Pharmaceutical company. Two years back I gave GMAT and I got 490.
I have few questions, please help me

1. I heard that GMAT score is valid for 5 years, is it so?
1. Is it possible to get executive MBA in top B school with GMAT score of 490? if so please suggest the few best b-school for my score.
2. Since I am working in Pharma company, I prefer online MBA, what is the value of online MBA compared to regular one.

If you are looking at top tier schools, you should consider retaking the GMAT or see if the GRE is a better fit for you. This is not a score that will get you into a top school. There are some executive MBA programs that are block week format, so every month you attend for a full week. That might be a compromise for you before you head the online route. Again, this all depends on what kind of school you want to attend and how the MBA fits in with your career. There are a lot of online programs, so if you choose that route, I recommend choosing one at a well-respected institution so you have great on-campus resources to access. Also, some online MBA programs will waive the GMAT, so make sure you explore that option as well!

Thank you for your post. We work with a number of physicians each year actually and they do quite well. That said when I send physicians to Wharton they definitely have a higher score. You are looking at 700 range. Now you can apply to schools that don't require the GMAT if the rest of your profile is strong. In terms of online programs, you would want to target one that doesn't require the score also. The online programs lack the networking that a regular program so you do get less. Feel free to reach out to explore what we could do together.

Best,
Scott
