Hello
I am leaning between IE Executive MBA (on-line + presencial modules) and an Executive MBA of McCombs / Egade (Monterrey) offered in Mexico (where I am currently living).
My background is engineer with postgraduation in International Relations and Public Policy. I work in the energy sector (utility)
- IE has better ranking and more oriented on global perspective and social responsibility (I work on PPP and would like to continue, even one day maybe working for a MFI). I am not afraid of the on-line stuff as I am used to mostly learn by myself, and develop projects with multinational multiremote teams. But maybe the IE "online/blended" is downgraded by employers/alumni vs the full-time MBA?
- Egade/McCombs offers "regular" executive schedule, with fortnightly classes on Friday/Saturday in Mexico. McCombs looks to have good reputation in the energy industry, but maybe less well-known internationally, with lower rankings.
I am not really focussed on the networking with classmates given that I don´t intend to spend my life in Mexico, and in a few years my environment will change again (can be regional or continental) => I am more interested by the strength of the international alumni network.
Thanks for your comments, especially from those who graduated from McCombs and IE
