Exercise review strategy

Hi there,
I have just begun my GMAT preparation. I was wondering what general approach should I follow after completing a set of exercises (I'm using the "Beat the GMAT" schedule)?
Currently, I"m only reviewing the answers to the questions I get wrong or that I get right without being 100% sure of how I got it right.
Reviewing the detailed explanation of every single question I do can be quite time consuming, and so I'm not sure if it would be a good use of time.
However, I am concerned that, by not doing so, I may be missing out on some techniques, strategies, etc. For instance, I randomly took a look at some questions I got right (and know how and why I got them right), but the explanation given by the answer key is sometimes quite (if not drastically) different from my approach. I even find that sometimes it's pointlessly convoluted when there is in fact a much simpler way of solving.
Should I be learning to solve the way they solve such questions, as it may be a better approach that finds infallible application in more instances, or is it fine to keep solving the way I figure out how to solve?
Thanks for the advice!
