for what its worth, i don't envy ibankers and finance guys. i love what i do because i knew how much help me and my Marines needed when i was in Iraq. i do what i can because if the organizations i work with don't, LITERALLY no one else will. if working a few extra hours, sitting on a soft chair, in a climate controlled room, eating whatever food i want, without the threat of a mortar blowing me up, helps the guys over there with their job and keep them safer, what the F do i have to complain about.
regardless, this topic is getting way out of hand.
the moral of the story, at least in my view, is don't compare yourself to others with ECs. if you have a passion for something, show it through your work and you essays. if you don't have many ECs, either go out and get some, or stand up and talk about why you don't. don't be ashamed of your story, be proud of it, little EC or lot EC. you are who you are, and don't worry about me or anyone else who has a different story. adcoms are looking to make the best cocktail of students, and they want people who have heavy ECs and others who are heavy industry guys. don't be bashful of where you stand and tell 'em why you feel you're a good fit.
