seems like you are repeating my history
My strategy this time around it to dwell on the mistakes... and yes I agree with you that once you are put in this stressful situation and are pressed for time, then you forget all the strategies that you learned...
this is what happened to me on the real thing... i just see the freaking long CR questions and start reading from the top... BAM! How many times did I hear/did read the QUESTION first... forget about the text for a min...
then, I am looking at the question... completely lost what I should do next and... then read the question, figure out what kind of CR it is and then go find the premises, conclusions, etc... EATS UP A LOT OF TIME!!! I guess it has to do with stress... cause I know the strategies when I study, but once I am at the testing center the mind just goes blank...
So now, I am more focused on banging on these strategies, registering them in my memory

hoping I won't lose them on the exam again! Whenever I get the question wrong now, especially on CR (my weakest link) I just read it over and over, read the explanations over and over until my mind registers it!... but before I read any explanations, I would make a hierarchy of the answers, which I think might be correct (best, 2nd best) and explain my answers.... I usually am able to narrow it down to 2, but somehow my luck ends up on the wrong side and I miss the question.
anyway, to keep my strategy short, I don't move on to the next batch of questions until I understand my mistakes in the last 10... every week, I would go back to those and see if I can explain the answer again!
as for the strategies, I wrote out the flash cards with steps on it and try to diligintly go over those every day... and when commuting I would try to remember what are the specific steps/tricks to answer the "inference" question or whatever it is... really helps... my visual memory helps here... ha-ha... same idea helps with other types of questions as well...
hope this helps and we shall see if it would work!
