Absolutely heart broken - I am seriously flawed in my planning somewhere ... below is the history of my failures
March , 2004 -> (one month study) 650 (Q50- V 27)
Nov , 2005 -> (two weeks study) 640 (Q47 - V 32) ... for these two weeks I studied only SC
Sep , 2006 -> (Two months study) 640 (Q50 - V 27) Yeeeekssss
My verbal is not that bad now (that's what I feel) 'cause for the last 2 months I am brushing up that only. However the last 15 mins were hell for me (never drink too much water in the breaks). I fininshed the last 7 questions in 2 mins. You can guess, I just to complete.
While deciding to see or not to see the scores my curiosity got the better of me, though I knew it was not crossing 700. The same thing happened nov last year.
I applied to CMU last year an in the feedback interview they said that anything above 700 would make my profile highly competitive.

Sorry to hear. But if you are thinking of retaking the GMAT, I suggest you do it asap while you can build on the 2-mths prep that you have just done.
Maybe one last try or aim slightly lower in terms of school selection. Personal opinion.

Realistically speaking, provided that the rest of your application is impeccable, you probably have a solid chance at all but the top 10~15 schools (~98% of AACSB accredited schools) with a GMAT score like that. If you absolutely must attend a top tier ultra-elite program, then master those SC/CR 1000 documents front to back and back to front again. Scrutinize all your errors and schedule one more retake.
Or, like the post above suggests, focus your energy on getting a scholarship at a slightly less competitive school (top 50~15).
Ultimately, you gotta make the choice yourself.
