Hi Experts,
I have been preparing for the GMAT for the last ~4 months & have gotten the following scores in my mocks. I aim to hit 700+, however, unfortunately, I have not been able to cross that huddle on first attempt mocks and hence have been postponing the exam. I took all the mocks twice and saw some improvement in the second attempts.
Although I did not see a single repeat question, I felt the 2nd attempt questions were slightly easier. Do you think the second attempt scores reflect the actual Gmat level? Has anyone experienced this firsthand/ heard from their students? If you would still estimate my average score to be around 645-655, what do you recommend as the next steps?
All these tests were taken in strictly test-like conditions.

Hi. These are the best available tools for estimating your gmat score.
Is the first attempt going to be better than the first one? Yes, you have a bigger question database and more questions to draw from so the test is more adaptive and therefore maculate but it’s hard to tell how much more adaptive accurate it will be and then the same issues on the real test will impact the score.
I have not taken the paid tests, so perhaps another test taker can comment on that aspect.... But there’s always going to be some fluctuation. it does look like 675 seems to be the first attempt score and then it bumps up a bit in the second and then it does the same.
so it seems you are around 675 level at the moment, that’s me looking at the tea leaves 😇

Hi AK1501,
These scores should be reliable, and even if we consider your first-attempt practice test scores more reliable, those scores are still very good. As for next steps, I would take the actual GMAT soon if I were you.
. I feel this score might not be good enough for my target schools (M7s). I am a finance graduate from the University of Delhi (India) & currently work at a consulting firm (MBB) in India (~3 years). Prior experience with an Investment bank (2 years).
