Fidel Castro found it simple to seize power, but maintaining it difficult.
(A) maintaining it difficult
(B) its maintenance difficult
(C) difficult to maintain it
(D) difficulty was experienced in maintaining it
(E) difficult inasmuch as maintaining it was concerned

Please explain: It was b/w B and C but could not pinpoint exactly why B is wrong. Is B wrogn beacuse of the possesive "its"

I would go for C. simple to seize power, difficult to mantain it (adverb + infinitive + noun, pronoun). B is not correct because it is not parallel.
