I'm not strong with probability/counting arguments, but I'll take a stab at this.
The probability is the total successful outcomes divided by the total possible outcomes.
In this case the total possible outcomes is 10c4 (number of ways to choose 4 from 10).
The total number of successful outcomes (here is where I struggle to count) seems to be the number of ways we can choose the 3 particular fig cans times the number of ways the additional 4th can be selected from the remaining 7 cans, e.g. 3c3 * 7c1 = 1*7
Hence I'm thinking the answer should be 7/10c4 but I'm not sure if this is right. Can anyone help me with counting the numerator?
