Hi all,

I would firstly like to really thank gmat club for the wonderful platform that it is.

I write my gmat tomorrow..
I gave a mock test yesterday and get a very encouraging score.

Even though I feel I've prepared enough..I dont feel completely kicked because I've bombed the exam once - 1.5yrs ago..

I took a relatively light day today so I can keep my cool for tomorrow..but honestly I'm still kinda nervous coz i dont wanna blank out like i did last time.

Any tips and suggestions ? Would really appreciate :please

Hi,
Thank you for appreciating the Gmatclub. This is the time where you should relax and watch something you like. For ex.: watch a comedy movie, listen soothing songs, or do anything which makes you feel better and free. I trust that you have prepared enough and you will be confident after encouraging score. Sleep well, reach at the center before time and give it your best :please
I wish you all the best for tomorrow. Let us know your score

Hi Tanishi,

To help manage your nerves, you could try some visualization techniques. Imagine various test-day scenarios such as getting stuck on a question, issues in the testing center, feeling pressed for time, or worrying that you’re underperforming. As you feel your stress responses start to kick in when thinking about these things, practice pulling yourself together and visualize focusing on getting correct answers.

When taking the GMAT, the best way to deal with stress is to get busy answering the question in front of you, focusing completely on the task at hand so that you redirect all of that nervous energy and naturally calm down. In other words, you distract yourself with a goal. Just tell yourself that all that matters is getting the correct answer to the question in front of you, and then when you have finished that question, take the same attitude toward the next one. Focus on winning each “mini-battle” and you won't have time for anxiety. If you can win enough of those battles, you can win the GMAT war, right?

I wrote an article that provides some more detailed advice about how to limit GMAT anxiety.

Good luck tomorrow, and let us know how things turn out.

Hi, thank you for the suggestions. Scott, your article was really nice ..I wish I had encountered it sooner.

I scored a 720 today.. I was really flustered at the beginning of the Quant section , I managed to get a few questions right that built my confidence but I still felt stuck every now and then and lost my cool.
I got a Q 49

Verbal was relatively better - anxiety wise, but I still thought it was tricky and I couldnt make the right decisions . Verbal is my strength.. i got a V40 which was honestly quite disappointing.

2 days ago I gave my final mock test from veritas prep and scored an unbelievable 790! Q50 V50!

From there I'm honestly quite disheartened with a 720..this is my second attempt and I left my job to prepare thoroughly..I'm not sure how to proceed from here.
I dont think I can take another attempt.. and I dont think 720 is good enough for my target colleges..I was hoping to get scholarships ..not sure what options to consider now
