Congratulations and thanks very much for sharing.

I think most of us can all relate very well to your emotions. All your struggles with the verbal section will only serve to improve your language skills. Its very difficult to improve that part once you arrive here.

Best Wishes

Congratulations (again) for a job well done! I dare to say you deserve a higher score but 700 is good enough for anything. Let us know what your next plan is and good luck with your 8 (wow) final papers!

Hey Laxie,

Congratulations on a Great Score!!! :band

I know who you are referring to when you mentioned "my buddies here expect a higher score from me". I expect a better score from you because "YOU ARE THE MOST INTELLIGENT FEMALE THAT I HAVE EVER MET (well I am yet to meet you in person). And HongHu is not counted as a human being because SHE is a Goddess

GUYS,
I have PMed Laxie with so many ABOVE 51 level Quant questions and every single time she has come up with a GREAT solution. Hence the respect :pray and higher expcetation.

Standarzied tests don't really measure your Intelligenece. That's why the schools look at other apects of your application. With your not-so-common-profile and a score of 700, you really have a good shot at all of the Top business schools. Work on your essays properly and you are on your way to your dream school.

:thanks for all your help and encouragement.

Laxie,

sincere congratulations!!! 9 months of dedication paid off!!! I really think 700 is a great score no matter what others expected... I would love to grab 700, even if it has zeros behind it!!! :P

good luck on your papers! (all 8 of them!!!) however don't forget to party!
:woohoo

ps did you do the challenges of this site? if so, can you post you correlation results here?

https://www.gmatclub.com/phpbb/viewtopic ... d8fb4d3deb

also, how low was your verbal score when you started? and how did you deal with the time pressure on that section since you are ESL?

thanks!

Thank you all for your wishes!!! :)

@Giddi: Hik, please don't praise me that much :"> . I know my limit ;)
@sis Honghu: You're simply a genius ;)
@U2lover: I did post my challenges scores in the link you provided :)
My verbal scores strongly fluctuate from 22( at that time, i was tired after whole day's class and didn't focus at all) to 42 ...it all depends on how well i can stay focused ( a subtle mental stability which I hardly get to). But i did see my RCs improved much since i employed the tactic of GMATT73: read and sustain the first question in your head when you go through the whole passage, try to get it right, the rest will be smoother. Also, try to have some interest in reading those passages. Get out of your mind the meer purpose of getting the answer, instead, think that you're gaining some knowledge from reading those passages ( this tip was provided by many other members here :)

Congratulation Laxie! Boy I'm happy for you. I know you studied diligently from our conversation in Guanzhou when we met :) I'm glad that it's all over and do let me know how it unfolds in terms of b-school applications for you. Keep in touch.

Hey Laxie!! That's a great score. I am sure you are worth more than 700, but hey, as most of us believe, this exam score doesn't truly represent one's potential. In relative terms (in my mind), if HongHu is 780, you are 770! So, a BIG CONGRATS!!!! Your hardwork has paid off. Just one look at your posts would tell how diligent and thorough you are. I took a lot of inspiration from you, HongHu, GMATT73, duttsit and other people! All you guys are special. Thank You for that!

As usual, Good Luck with the next steps and please do stick around. In the future, I am sure you'll do amazingly well in whatever you choose to do! My Best Wishes!
