I'm a junior (class of 2021) at the University of Washington studying Finance and Information Systems. I'm just posting to ask for advice about getting an MBA. I want to get into either investment banking or consulting and I don't have a summer internship(for 2020) coming up and I know the chances of me getting a full-time job without an IB internship are tough. I do have an internship from Amazon and will work hard to get a full-time offer. Next year, I'll network and try my best to get an IB job but in case I don't, I'll look for corporate finance roles like Amazon. I don't think I'll like the experience at Amazon from what I heard from other people.
Regardless of this experience, I'll be applying for MBA after 2 years (around 2023). My current GPA is a 3.3 but I'm working on getting it above 3.5. I'm planning to start GMAT prep after I graduate. I guess I'm asking for advice in terms of timeline and whether a UW graduate has a chance of getting into top business programs like Wharton, Harvard etc. Are there any other UW graduates here with a similar path?
