Heres a bit of a longer explanation:
1225 can be expressed as a product of its prime factors, spcifically;
1225=5^2*7^2
for any number the number of unique factors can be described as the product of (1+ the power of prime factor), for example;
64= 2^6, so its unique factors would be (6+1)=7
44= 2^2*11^1; (2+1)*(1+1)=6
so here, the number of unique factors would be defined as:
(2+1)*(2+1)= 9
