Hi all,

I just gave the GMAT today and got an abysmal 600 (Q36 V38). This comes as a shocker because I have been practicing quant quite regularly on gmatclub using the forum question bank.My quant error log stands at 4200+ questions as of today.I've made sure to avoid "GMATPrep" questions.I did not study maths in college,but Q36 is completely devastating.I have been solving questions here since last March (on/off).

These are my mock scores with dates:

MGMAT - 660(Q44,V36) - 2-6-2022 -
GMATPrep - 730(Q49,V41) - 02-19-2022
GMATPrep - 680(Q48,V36) - 02-26-2022
GMATPrep - 720(Q50,V37) - 02-28-2022
GMATPrep - 750(Q49,V44) - 03-06-2022

I have canceled my score and am looking to retake within the next 45 days. Sincely hoping that today was just a bad day at the office, I was quite nervous.I have ordered the ESR.



Need some guidance from the experts here on how to improve to a target of 720+.

Edit:
Attached the relevant part of the ESR. Seems I got the first 25% questions correct in a row,so the algo started giving me hard questions which I tried to solve and wasted time.

I have ordered the ESR.

Playback what happened during the Quant section when you look at the ESR data. In some ways, there will be insight there that only you will be able to glean.

How to score high on the GMAT. Why solving approach is important.

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Before we discuss any of those potential issues though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? Did you take any other CATs/mocks besides the 5 that you listed?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). Since you purchased the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you. If you would rather not post it publicly, then you can feel free to PM it directly to me.

2) What study materials have you used so far? Did you take any other CATs/mocks besides the 5 that you listed? - GMATClub Math Book only.No other mocks.
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to? - By June/July.My target schools need a 720+.
