Hey guys, I just took my first CAT using the GMATPrep software and scored a 520. On the 37Q, I missed 15. On the 41V, I missed 14. On the 11IR, I missed 8.
I am scheduled to take the GMAT May 22. My target is to obtain a GMAT score of at least 700, but would want to aim close to 720-730. I am from an underrepresented demographic and my target schools would be Stanford/Harvard/UCLA. I may not go back to B-school, but I want to get the test out of the way now as I’m only two years out of college and want to have the option in the future.
I have never excelled at test-taking (went to a top 15 university however) but did extremely average on the SAT/ACT (although I didn’t really study).
How can I best use my short time to improve my score into the low 700’s? I have all of the
MGMAT books, the OG 2016 and 2018 books,
I started studying for the GMAT (kind of minimally) in November/December 2016, but had a big move for my job and ended up not studying whatsoever between January/February. I originally was hoping to take the test in January but got totally distracted. I began again to study about two weeks ago. I scored much better on the verbal (650 i think) because it’s mostly what I have studied.
I have always been very weak in math related topics so I know that area is going to have to be my focus.
My workload isn’t too crazy for the next few months, so I think I can consistently put in 2-3 hours a night (more on the weekend) to study.
