This is my first attempt at taking a CAT based exam, and I haven't spent much time other than reviewing basic algebra concepts. I have loaded up on the Kaplan math workbook, the OG 11 (yellow/orange), and the OG 11 quant, the
MGMAT quant books (and SC), an old algebra book. I also have all of the testmasters LSAT books for CR/RC. I'm debating when to set my test date. I'd like to apply for schools this fall, for the following fall.
On to the exam I took today -- I saw a few pretty hard coordinate geometry problems that I was not sure how to solve, and I had a few arithmetic sequence problems I didn't know how to solve either. I want to make sure to take the AWA's in all my practice CATs because of the time and endurance required for the exam. One good thing, after taking the exam today I was not exhausted, I had the energy to some of the quant material, I think I'll finish reviewing the rest tommorrow.
Quant is my weakness, with a 30 I really need to work on this and bring it up to 44+. I think a 34 verbal is ok, but if I can get that to a 40 I'd be really happy.
I want to apply to California based UC's for a program in real estate finance/development.
I know it's early in the game and want to take my GMAT in either July or August. I plan to spend 4-6 hours a day on avg studying.
