Hey guys, did my first text online last week and did pretty awful (520). I took this to heart as I always considered myself a good student and would always get above an 80% in university. I am definitely feeling discouraged and embarrassed but I know that the path to gmat and masters completion isn't always easy.
In terms of prep I started with the OG book and some very half assed studying. I was working 50 hrs a week and was not doing the appropriate study methods or procedures. After this I felt like a needed some more explanation so I got
magoosh because it was on sale and found the explanations helpful. However I feel like the main reason I am falling short is lack of structure. I felt at times I was randomly picking things to do and even though I knew the areas I had to work on I never felt as if I was truly getting better.
My question is what next? I still have lots of time to apply to the school I want so I'm not too stressed in that regard, I just really want to get this test done and out of the way! I was thinking I may get a tutor to talk to and see if I can formulate a study plan that I can stick to and get some structure to my studies. I am also considering buying
Manhattan prep books as I hear they are great. I have decided that I may need to spend some money and get a program that will provide me with more direction and to do this the right way. Let me know what you guys think!
An additional question is how long do I need to wait in order to take the test again? I am aiming for something 600-650, and I know its obtainable.
