Hello all,

I'm a long-time reader...but first time poster. I'm a little frustrated with my inconsistency...and I'm feeling a little bit of pressure because my test is coming up in 20 days. Here are the results of my practice tests so far:

Kaplan - 540
Kaplan - 590
Princeton Review - 710
Princeton Review - 640

I'm basically all over the map. I'm a good test taker...and I think that my biggest problem is pacing... I have a goal to hit 750 on the GMAT, but the test is coming up in 20 days... I have set aside about 3 hours per day for studying... Have any of you had a similar experience? I know that I can hit that target, but I'm starting to feel a little pressure. I think that my problems are mostly psychological.

Any help or motivating words would be appreciated!

Welcome To the Gmat Club :)
Well Dear first of all dont feel tensed..Keep urself cheered up... :)
First of all i will say dont go by Kaplan Scores there scoring is actually bit different then Real GMAT.
Have u tried any GMAT prep? try giving one if u havent yet..
U r already in the line of 650 score dear so Just keep ur spirit high..I will say try to find out ur mistakes,the questions in which u r actually getting wrong...revising the strategies and solution for those question will surely help to increase ur score..
In one line i will say Worrying too much wont help u increasing ur score!!
There are many guys here in the forum who had confidence and scored above 750 + just within 30 days..
All u need to do is try to find the main mistakes ,which part of syllabus u r going wrong and then work on it..
u will surely cross the ocean :)

the score range is a bit wide. What are you using for study guides? MGMAT is good powerscore SC is also very good. Do you have a V/Q breakdown so we could see your raw scores?

For the last 20 days, I would recommend doing GMATPrep CATs and also going through the OG books. Use the pressure to motivate you to study, but do not let it deter you from making further progress!

Thank you all for the quick responses. I have another question.

I have 8 more Princeton Review/Kaplan tests that I can take...I was planning on cramming those tests into my 20 day window. Is it worth it to take as many CATs as I can? Or, should i just focus on doing questions?

Also, my worry about doing OG questions is that I tend to go through them really quickly...and I don't find them very challenging.

do you know your weakness areas? you need to give us more info to work with. Basically you are saying you are a good tester and gave use few scores which doesnt indicate consistency. Did you do at least the gmat diagnostic?

Give break out of score and what you are getting wrong. You should put some focus on your weakness. Have you figured out whether it is your quant or verbal score fluctuating and if so have you recognized any patterns?

So, according to PR, my weakness is definitely verbal. In the verbal section, I got 50% of the RC questions correct. So, in verbal, my weakness is RC.

Hey dont go for all the tests in less time it wont help u improve ur score much but may tense u more...
I will also say try to look for the solutions provided in the end of every sections this will help u strategise why certain question was wrong and why right.....!!!
revise concepts too..!!

you need to work on quant a little bit more too. maybe do a 30/70 split of time between quant and verbal.
