I had a 690 on an "unprepared" test as well; 1.5 months of study pushed me to 760. And I still believe I could score better :)

However, don't just relax - by saying "1.5 month of study" I mean 1.5 month of STUDY, not just dorking around and thinking "OK, I'll kill the GMAT so soon". If you don't put in a serious effort, you'll score 690 - minus the anxiety of real test, minus any minor problem that makes you distracted, minus whatever else.

Impressive, but you shouldn't get impressed by this score.

Study like you got a mid 500 from your test, also take practice CATs regularly. You will see that the score will vary a lot, get used to it. There is a huge factor of luck in GMAT.

Sounds like you can do a very high score, just do not lose the hang of it!

For the support and counsel.

Though happy with the initial score, I agree it means nothing, unless I turn it into something.

As soon as I am done with a couple other things, i will get to it. Probably starting around July, and then read quite a bit about the different test studying strategies. And get to it.

Look forward to the continued discussions.
