Five consecutive integers have a sum N. If all the integers are increased by the same amount so that the middle integer is doubled, what is the sum of the resulting numbers?

A. 2N
B. 2N + 1
C. 2N + 2
D. 2N + 3
E. 2N + 4

Let the 5 numbers be 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 & 5

Sum = 15 (N)

Middle no doubled is 6

Each number is increased by 3, so the numbers now becomes - 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8

Sum of the numbers now is 30 (2N)

So, Answer will be (A) 2N
