Is there a well-tested way to check if a large number like 73211 is odd and prime?Based on the number,I was able to determine that it was not divisble by the following numbers:
2-The last digit of 73211 is not 2
3 --As the sum of the digits of 73211 add to 5
5 -- As the last digit is not 0 nor 5
++++
But it was divisble by 7 in the following fashion:
7 -- 73211- [70000(7*10000) - 2800(7*400) - 411(7*137)]
+++++
Thus the above verifies that it is odd but nor prime number.
Is this the only way to check this?Is there a shorter method?[/b]

I think you did a pretty good job of checking. I mean, you know because it's an odd number that it's not divisible by 4 or 6, so 7 is the likely one to check.
