↧↧↧ Detailed Video Solution to the Problem ↧↧↧

The function f(n) is defined to be the product of all the distinct prime factors of n

Lets take an example to understand the function

f(10) = 2*5 = 10 (As 2 and 5 are the distinct prime factors of 10)

Lets take each option choice and check which one gives the smallest value of f(n).
Tip: look only options which are multiples of higher powers of prime numbers

(A) 84
84 = 21 * 4 = \(2^2 * 3 * 7\)
=> f(84) = 2 * 3 * 7 = 42

(B) 90
90 = \(2 * 3^2 * 5\)
=> f(90) = 2 * 3 * 5 = 30

(C) 95
95 = 5 * 19
=> f(95) = 5 * 19 = 95

(D) 96
96 = 32 * 3 = \(2^5 * 3\)
=> f(96) = 2 * 3 = 6 (least till now)

(E) 100
100 = \(2^2 * 5^2\)
=> f(100) = 2 * 5 = 10

So, Answer will be D
Hope it helps!
