The range is defined as the difference between the highest and lowest values. By scanning the graph, we can see that Greenhouse A’s points span from about 250 up to about 1350, which is a larger gap than the others.
Answer: Greenhouse A
Drop-down 2:
The median is the middle value when ordered, or for 8 values, the average of the 4th and 5th largest.
Greenhouse A: 4th and 5th yields are both around 700, so the median is about 700
Greenhouse B: 4th is about 1000 and 5th a bit above 1000, so the median is slightly above 1000
Greenhouse C: 4th is about 600 and 5th a bit below 800, so the median is slightly below 700
Greenhouse D: 4th is just below 600 and 5th just above 800, so the median is about 700
Thus, the greatest median belongs to Greenhouse B.
The greenhouse with the greatest range of recorded yields was: Greenhouse A since it has the greatest value as well as the lowest value among 8 yields recorded. greatest being 1400 and lowest is somewhere close to 200 .
The greenhouse with the greatest median recorded yield was :Median is between 4th and 5th value. The greatest median will be for the house with greatest difference in 4th and 5th value. The greatest diff is for greenhouse D with approximately 200Kg
Statement 1: The greenhouse with greatest range of recorded yields: Upon observing the graph, the blue triangles, (green house A) has the widest range roughly from 200 to 1400.
Statement 2: The greenhouse with the greatest median recorded yielded is : Since, there are a total of 8 values, the greatest median will be for the house with the greatest sum of 4th and 5th values (when considered in increasing order). Upon observing, The red dots (greenhouse B) has the highest valves for 4th and 5th readings.

Can someone please explain how median is calculated for all the greenhouse based on the graph, I can't understand how median for greenhouse A is 700 which points are considered

Can someone please explain how median is calculated for all the greenhouse based on the graph, I can't understand how median for greenhouse A is 700 which points are considered

For each greenhouse we have 8 values (an even number). The median of an even set is the average of the two middle values, meaning the 4th and 5th when sorted.
So we look at the 4th and 5th yields for each greenhouse. For example, in Greenhouse A both the 4th and 5th values are around 700, so the median is about 700. The same process is applied to the other greenhouses. Please see the official solution for the other medians and comparison.
