Attention all GMAT test-takers beginning tomorrow, April 16th: we have reason to believe that the distribution/balance/frequency of question types on the Verbal section has changed on the new, shorter GMAT.
Good luck and please share your ESRs so that we may learn more about the new, shorter GMAT with fewer experimental questions.

Just want to inform that the new structure is for GMATPrep, not the official exam. GMAC hasn't confirmed the new structure yet. Still hope any test takers who take exam with new layout could share the new format of the test.
Yes, that's true, as it says in red text on the document that I linked as my source:
I have also edited the language of the original post to clarify that we don't yet know this to be true on the new GMAT, which began today.
GMAC has not confirmed this information, but GMAC was the source of the above image regarding the upcoming GMATPrep software update, and it is reasonable to assume that the updated GMATPrep software will have roughly the same balance of questions as the new GMAT.
In other words, getting some confirmation from actual test-takers regarding question frequency / # of passages on Verbal would be great, but for now it's a reasonable assumption that COULD, but probably WON'T, be proven wrong.
