IMO D.
Total solid(non water content) in 100kgs of fresh fruits= 28 kg
Solid in 1kg dry fruit = 0.8kg
So total dry fruit that can be formed = 28/0.8
= 35

72% water ; so 28 kgs fruit in 100 kgs
and 20% water in dry fruit ; .8 kgs of dry fruit from 1 kg weight
so
28/.8 = 35 kgs IMO D

Solution

Given:
• Fresh fruits contain 72% of water by weight, and
• Dry fruits contain 20% of water by weight

To find:
• The number of kgs. of dry fruits that can be obtained from 100 kgs. of fresh fruits

Approach and Working:
Let us assume that the number of kgs. of dry fruits that can be obtained from 100 kgs. of fresh fruits = x
• So, (100 – 20)x = (100 – 72) * 100
o Implies, 80x = 2800
• Therefore, x = $$\frac{2800}{80} = 35$$

Hence, the correct answer is Option D
