Thanks all.

1) I'm mainly planning to apply for INSEAD and Hitotsubashi University.

2) I hope I can make it to INSEAD in the next round due 06/01 but I think I might need to go for the next round.

Hi Haryem,

A strong GMAT Score is just one piece of the Overall application, so you have to be careful about trying to "rush" through assembling the other aspects of your application(s). In my prior post, I suggested that you reach out to an Admissions Expert - and I still thing that that is a good idea. You might be fine applying for the January 6th deadline - but if your application might look 'weak' in spots by doing so, then you might be better served by aiming at the next deadline (after January 6th), so that you can put the necessary time and energy into making every aspect of your application as strong as it can be.

Thank you so much! We definitely need more 710 debriefs! Congratulations on your score!

Dumb question, Are you applying or did you just get an MBA in Japan?

PS. I loved memoirs of a geisha. It was sad to part with Sayuri at the end of the book.

Thank you! ^ ^ No I'm currently trying to apply to MBAs

I think I picked Memoirs of a Geisha from your list of recommended books for GMAT, so thanks for recommending!

Hi all, I'm interested in developing my career in Japan. Right now I can apply for both INSEAD and Hitotsubashi University, but I am a little torn between the two.

I understand that INSEAD is one of the best out there, but Hitotsubashi is based in Japan, and the job finding process will be easier if I were to go to Hitotsubashi. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Is anyone aware of any applicants who were in the same position as I am in? Thank you.

I can't say I know any applicants who were in the same exact position as you; however, I'd recommend reaching out to some alumni from each of these programs to get a more informed answer to your question. If you can find someone who was in a similar situation to what you have described here, you may be able to gain some clarity on what to do.

Hi Haryem,

Each Business School has a vested interest in keeping in touch with its Alums - since the careers of those Alums can be seen as 'proof' of the value of that School's Degree (and sometimes the 'reach' of the Alumni network). Since you're interested in some specific aspects of what your Degree will be worth, you would likely find it beneficial to reach out to each School directly and ask to be put in touch with some Alums. Even if you don't receive the exact information that you're looking for, you'll establish a stronger relationship with each of the Schools that you plan to apply to - which might help you when your applications are being reviewed.
