Experience:
I started my test day as any other day, got up and went to work,
instead of reading or doing any more studying, I just kept my mind busy on work related affairs.
I think the reason I scored better than last time was that I wasn't nervous, and i didn't mind scoring bad..
i was ready to score anything, and I know I wasn't going to score any lower than last time...
on my practice tests, I got:
PP1: 580
PP2: 600
PR1: 570
PR2: 570
Kaplan1: 510
as you can see, my scores on the tests were really low, mainly because I could not concentrate long enough, on the verbal section, or I would get distracted by the many thing happening around me while taking the test.
during the real Gmat, I was relaxed, and actually enjoying the test, I felt that finally I was having peace and could concentrate, so the 3 hours went by so fast that I didn't realize.
AWA:
The writting was pretty straight forward. taking into consideration that the previous time, I scored a 5.5 on the AWA, but 27 on teh verbal....
Quant:
I faced OG questions most of the times.. got 1 prob. question and many stadistical questions.
I felt that I was getting into the hard bin at the end of the test, when I saw a weird graphic with angles and stuff, it might have been an experimental question.
Verbal:
It has always been my weakest point...
tried to takle each question 1 by 1, spending more time on the first 12.
got 2 RC on the first 5 questions, so I guessed I was in teh right path..
by the end of the section, I was faced with 2 consecutive Bold faces questions, and right after that a 75 lines RC....
i had only 2 minutes for the last 3 questions, so I had to guess 2 of them...
after going through some survey questions, i was surprices to see a Q47 V34 with a 650 (84%).
best score i ever had...even with practice tests...
thanks for the forum. and keep participating.
I think anyone is capable to scoring high in Gmat, it all depends on how much you want it.
and the sacrifices you are willing to make in order to reach that goal.
I am also considering retaking it, if that will increase my chances to apply to a Top 10 school.
well, people tend to get greedy, that's the human nature, right?
