Beginning of September, I took GMAT prep, and to my super super surprise, I got 540!
Then I though I needed serious study, hence I took OG11, Kaplan 800 and Princeton, and did GMAT Prep - 680, plus two more GMAT papers back in 1995 with scores 660 and 720. Today, I took the real GMAT exam, and scored 690 (Q49, V34) - I had 20' extra after Maths session but I left only 1 minute for the last 9 verbal questions!!! Feel like an old tortoise in reading.
For sure, this is insufficient (88% percentile) for top US schools. I'll need to re-take in the next 4 weeks, probably 2nd December, aiming @ 770 (aim high so that if I fall short it is still around 750). This time I'll need to practice more esp in Verbal and become more skillful in time management. Key materials are
MGMAT (never seen them before) and some practice tests from 800score website, hopefully by end of Nov I could have 2,3 practice tests with 770 scores. Any other recommendations for my verbal please? I can study only in the Sat afternoon and Sun due to busy work schedule.
Unfortunately deadline for 2nd round of application will approach soon, beginning of Jan. Actually I wanted to ask bosses to write me recommendation letter as I should give them sufficient time for this, but I'm embarrassed with my scores so probably not.
I write this thread here to post my journey to my 720+ for 1 month. Hope that I can make it. Kindly give me encouragement please. I'm like in the very mood of die die must kill this GMAT.
