Hi people,
I just did the gmat and got 740 (51Q, 40V)! This is my second attempt and just would like to share with u my experience.
On June, i did my first attempt and scored 630 (50Q, 25V).
As a non-native speaker, I struggled in verbal and so I had to study hard during july. My first attempt I studied from OG11, Kaplan, Kaplan 800 and Princeton Review. I thought I was well prepared and took the exam. Result: bombed in verbal and decided to study hard for july. I concentrated 95% of my time then studying verbal.
In my opinion, don't go Kaplan, Kaplan 800 or Princeton Review. They do not really help if you want high score.
The second time, I started looking on this forum, and decided to buy Powerscore CR bible and Manhattangmat SC, as well as the OG12. I have to say these are a must have books for a real 700 and up score. And during the preparation, remember to really dig in the concepts. You need to understand what is behind each question rather than just do the exercises. This really make all difference.
I did the GMATPrep at least 10 times each. At the beginning I got around the 700 and then flew over 780-800 as questions got repeated. And I did the first 3 ManhattanGMAT exams (600, 700, 730).
On the exam:
- I thought Quant much more difficult than usual, but I managed to do well. And verbal more difficult as well.
- Now, the break times are no longer 10min, but 8min only.
- Bring some food and some water. I did not bring and really thought it was a mistake. I was starving after Quant.
- Sleep well before exam to be in your best shape. Do some sports in your last week preparation, relax and think it is just an exam.
Well that's it!
Good luck to everyone!
