Hello Everyone,
I scored 650 in MGMAT test after 2.5 months of studying. However, took the GMAC Prep test and scored 540!
I was extremely taken aback by the results.
Could this be an anomaly or I am at the 540 level since the GMAC test is more indicative of the real test????
I have around 20 days to write the test and looking out for strategies that will help me. How could I improve on this?

there are few factors that might have increased your score in the first time (e.g. seeing the questions before taking the test, not taking full CAT, or taking the CAT without IR).
i took the economist gmat simulation and scored 710. Although I have improved my skills since the last time I took the GMAT, I highly doubt that I improved that much.
Do not focus too much on the score. Practice each type of question. Identify your weaknesses, and try to follow the practiced methods when solving each question. I know on my personal experience, real GMAT makes you feel like a dumb person, not knowing where to start tackling each problem.
Do not get disappointed with your score.

When big 'swings' in scores occur, you really have to define the details of how you went about taking your CATs.
When you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) What were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on each CAT?
3) Did you take them at home?
4) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
5) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
6) Did you ever take a CAT more than once?
7) Had you seen any of the questions on those CATs before?
While it might be tempting to take another CAT soon, you shouldn't take another one for at least another 4-5 days (so this upcoming weekend would probably be best). Your study time this week should be spend reviewing your CATs and getting in additional practice reps.
