Hi JimPayments,

First off, a 650/Q50 is a strong score (it's right around the 80th percentile overall), so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admission ... tants-124/

If you do plan to retest, with the goal of scoring 700+, then you're going to have to make some significant adjustments to how you 'see' the Verbal section. A V27 means that you likely lost significant points in all 3 major Verbal categories (SC, RC and CR) and those losses were NOT due to "hard" questions. Since your studies were 'book heavy', I don't doubt that you worked through lots of practice material, but there are clearly questions about HOW you worked through that material (the Tactics you used, the type of notes that you took, how well you know the various question types and common wrong answers, how well you really know the grammar/idioms that are tested, etc.).

Thankfully, with the proper consistent, guided study, you could potentially hit your score goal in a month, but you will have to make a concerted effort to learn and practice the proper Tactics.

1) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Rich, thanks for your answer, I sent you an email with my response

Hi JimPayments,

Did you used an error log?
Thats a good way to learn because that will help you zero down the concepts you are weak in. 650 is a good score which means you are weak in some areas and not all. Its important to identify those areas and work towards them.

Use an error log or consolidate the questions you have attempted on an excel sheet and try to analyze where you are going wrong.

I didn't, I will.
