I studied for the GMAT for about a month last summer and mustered a 670 on the only CAT I attempted (
MGMAT CAT 1). I then decided to resume studying four weeks ago, enrolled in a
MGMAT online course and, after two weeks of prep, scored 650 on
MGMAT CAT 2.
Today, after a further two weeks of study (four weeks in total), I scored 720 (Q42, V47) on GMAT Prep 1. I've been putting in a lot of work, but a 70 point difference in 2 weeks strikes me as being abnormal. How confident should I be that my abilities are more in line with my most recent score? Is it reasonable to think that my scoring ability is currently somewhere in the low 700s, or should I regard this result with skepticism?
I only wish that today's CAT had been the actual test, as I would have walked away satisfied with the result! 720 was the target I set for myself when I first started studying - if I can replicate this result on future practice CATs, I'll revise my target score upwards.
