I took the GMAT in October this year and could manage a meagre 680(Q48,V36).
After talking to various adcoms and my friends at some of the best B-schools, I reckon an applicant of my background is, more often than not, expected to possess a 700+, atleast.
I know it's not a rule but more of a trend that people from different demographic pools are assessed using different yardsticks. Personally, in my case.... I am an Indian IIT grad with over 8 years IT work exp in India, USA and UK. I think I am up against a large number of applicants with similar profiles as mine, only with a 700+ GMAT score.
I am going to have another go at it in March and was hoping some of you GMAT gurus around here could suggest some effective ways of boosting my 680 score by another 50-100 points.
I know I need to work a bit harder on my verbal. What would be a good strategy for me to adopt?
I have bought the Kaplan verbal workbook and plan to start going through it this weekend.
Thanks in advance
