Thanks!

Well for my Feb 2007 test, I had started way back in october 2006. I started downloading material from the net and did a lot of research (esnips was really helpful).I gave a lot of random tests of different sites just to get a feel of things
Though I started serious studies only in Jan, after I had taken an appointment....so I guess it was around 2 months of study ...before I took the first test.

ab,

I am trying to follow in your footsteps. I have a 690 (practically same breakdown), and could use a bump up, as well. My timing has been my weakness on quant nor am I a crack at the toughest of math problems (i.e. probability, std dev, etc). As for Verbal, CR seems to be my weakness.

My study plan, since I have used up all of my GMATPrep tests, is as follows:

consistently get 700+ on 6 MGMAT CAT's
then
go through the OG 11 the week before the test
all the while
going through Challenges and practice problems on GMAT Club forums

My test is in 4 weeks, and so far I have done 3 of 6 MGMAT tests, with scores 720, 700, and 700. These tests seem harder than the actual GMAT, but then again the actual GMAT seems hard when I am actually in it! Have you taken any of these CATs? As for the Challanges, I have done one so far and I was in the 93%ile.

Basically, I'm just trying to work on speed and the questions that I get wrong. I hope that I can mimic your success, and if you have any other words of wisdom or areas that you think I should work on other than what I have stated, then please let me know.

Congratulations!

Hi djhouse81,

Well...to begin with I would say 690 is not a bad score....so congratulations...

But then again...you can certainly take a chance to add 110 (Perfect 800) more points to the score ..:)

I totally understand your situation....I went through the questions in OG,PR and Kaplan so many times...that I ended up memorizing all the answers(A,B,C...)...
I think your strategy is really good and should work for you....
What helped me a lot was www dot gmatter dot biz you can time your self well on that.

For the more difficult problems on Quant...(SD, Probablity etc...) I have noticed that the scope of the questions doesnt extend beyond the text mentioned in OG. First, go through OG...understand the concepts well....then go through the questions and solutions of those topics in OG..

All the best!
