I wanted to come on here and share my journey with the GMAT Focus. I scored a 645, after 6 months of preparation. It was not the easiest experience, but I can solidly say that I grew a lot through my journey and I’d like to thank
TTP for a lot of that. I came into
TTP with no GMAT prep prior and studying for the GMAT became my main task. I would use
TTP for around 4-5 hours per day in order to complete the course in 4 months. The course is extremely customizable based on your target score, but I wanted to study the full content that was available to me. After 4 months, I had finished
TTP’s content review and I had 2 months before my exam date, so I began taking the GMAT Focus Official Practice Exams and practicing the official questions and questions on GMAT Club.
My first practice exam score was a 505 and I was pretty disappointed because I didn’t think it was an accurate reflection of the progress that I had made and the concepts that I had learned. Watching YouTube videos of strategies of timing and accuracy on the GMAT helped me to understand the algorithm better, which boosted my score. Also drilling down on my weak areas with custom practice quizzes from
TTP was crucial for me to bring my score up.
Week after week, I took a practice exam and I was bumping my score up by around 20-50 points per test. My highest score on practice was a 655 and my second highest was a 645 (which happened to be my final score as well).
Reflecting on my experience, studying for the GMAT was a very mentally challenging task. I wasn’t scoring anywhere close to where I wanted to be around a little over a month before my test and at that point I was extremely overwhelmed and had a mentality that I reached my maximum score cap. I almost accepted these circumstances during that time, but kept my head down and kept pushing through practice and content. After this period, I took a practice test and my score jumped 50 points. I learned that it’s always getting through the hardest moments that is when you begin to see a leap in progress. After my moment of almost giving up, I turned my practice score from a 595 to a 655.
Looking back, I have no regrets on how I approached my GMAT studying and
TTP was a huge part of that in giving me the foundation to be able to solve questions in a way that is structured and logical. I would highly recommend the program to anyone who is just starting out or wants a very deep understanding of the GMAT Focus material. Good luck with the test and I hope you can learn something from my experience!
