Hi Everyone!
Little about me:
I am 25 year old, Indian, male . I am a full time trader and entrepreneur, I am thinking of doing MBA and advance further in the field of trading/ investment banking.
I graduated in B.Tech in Information technology. Didn't peruse the field much, as I was not passionate about the field. And started my business during college. Had a CGPA of 7/10.
For business I have been a channel partner for EBIX for 4 years and this is in the field of Finance and Management Services.
About GMAT:
I thought of MBA back in 2018 too, studied a little for it but dropped the idea all together back then.
I gave a 1st official practice test got 650 (Q49 V30).
Analyzing it I am thinking I should be able to get 720+ if I give 2 months.
What I need help with:
1. Is it realistic to achieve 720+ score in 2 months?
2. Should I apply for 2023 intake in round 2,with my current profile, or think of applying next year ?
3. What colleges are best for Career in field like investment banking/ trading, I was thinking of aiming for stern or booth ?
4. How should I build my profile for those colleges?
5. Is it even possible to go from trader/ Entrepreneur to get into a top college?
6. There are no experience certificates for traders, how should i add to my profile?
7. Anything else I need to consider? Am I missing something?
Please guide me with your expertise.
Hi
veejat,
Thanks for writing in. Please find our point-wise responses below:
1. Yes, of course. Completely depends on the kind of preparation you put in.
2. If you are ready with your target GMAT score, you should apply in R2. If not, you may wait until next year.
3. Considering your target score is 720, you should be looking at a whole lot of other US top ~20 programs as well. For schools such as Booth and Stern, you need to aim for a significantly higher GMAT score for your application to stand out.
4. Frankly, with only a few months remaining, it will be tough to really "build" your profile. Just work on the GMAT for now. Should you wish to apply in R1, next year, this question will be a more relevant one.
5. Yes; of course; completely depends on how well you portray your experience and its sync with your future goals.
6. You may add it to your resume. So long as the facts are correct, it is fine. We hope this is what you meant.
7. Should you wish to discuss your profile in greater detail, please feel free to get in touch with us for a profile evaluation.
All the best!
