I gave my GMAT today at the test center, and everything was going smoothly. I started with the Verbal section, had to rush a bit at the end but managed to finish all the questions. The Quant section went really well. I finished with around 10 minutes to spare, and rechecked everything, pretty confident I got all the questions right. Then, I took the 10 minute break. And that’s when everything went downhill.
During the break, I was informed that my system was unresponsive but was assured that everything was under control. Fast forward 5 minutes, they restarted the computer and the software, but there was no option to end the break and continue the exam. They switched to 3 different computers, but the issue persisted. Only I was affected, while everyone else at the center continued without any issues. The examiner/proctor was on the phone with the support team trying to resolve it.
After more than an hour of sitting in the waiting room, I was finally told that the test had restarted, but I only had 19 minutes left in the last section (DI). At this point, the person on-call with the proctor (assuming a Pearson Tech Advisor) said nothing could be done.
They offered me a free reschedule but told me I'd have to wait 15 days. I explained that I couldn’t wait because of my upcoming application deadlines and demanded an earlier reschedule. They opened a case, and I was given a contact number. When I called, I was told the issue was being looked into and that they would update me.
I’m absolutely appalled by this technical disaster. I’m not sure how to proceed from here.
