Full-time MBA application submission checklistWith a lot of Business school application submission deadlines coming up, we are compiling a list of items that you need to check to ensure you submit the complete application on time.
1) Undergrad or equivalent degree transcriptsCheck if the school has received your undergrad or equivalent degree transcripts. If there is an option, you can also scan the transcripts and upload them to the application form to be safe.
2) Letters of RecommendationMake sure your recommenders have submitted their Letter of Recommendation.
3) Test ScoresCheck if the school has received your GMAT/GRE/TOEFL/IELTS test scores. If you have a waiver for test scores, make sure your waiver is approved and is reflected on your application.
4) Application FeeCheck the method of payment for paying the Application fee. Make sure the method of payment you are planning to use(credit/debit cards/Paypal etc) is an acceptable form of payment for paying the application fee. If you have an application fee waiver, make sure the fee waiver is applied to your account.
5) Check the Application deadline timezoneCheck the timezone of the deadline and make sure you are submitting your application well within the deadline.
6) EssaysCheck for typos in the Essays. Make sure you are respecting the word limit and check if copy-pasting the essay to the application form works. If you are using similar essays for several schools, make sure you are mentioning the correct school name for each essay.
Check if you are submitting an optional essay.
7) Application reviewIf you have time, have someone else review your application materials.
8) ResumeMake sure you have the resume in an acceptable format to upload to the online application form.
9) Don't wait till the deadlineIf you think you have all the components needed for submitting the application, don't wait till the deadline to submit your application. You can submit the application a day or two earlier to be safe.
10) Scholarship applicationCheck if you need to submit a different application for a scholarship.
11) International applicantsCheck if you need an English language proficiency test. If you have submitted a waiver for the English proficiency test, make sure it is approved.
12) For reapplicantsIf you are a reapplicant then ensure that the reapplicant essay is written
13) Extra-curricular activitesThe extra-curricular section often doesn't show up on the school's checklist. So, make sure you have filled out the extracurricular activities if you have any.
14) Employment detailsSome schools ask for an explanation if there is a gap between jobs or between completion of undergrad and starting a job. Make sure you are addressing this in the optional essay etc.
15) Make sure your Linkedin profile is updated(Suggested by ARINGO)It should correlate to the CV you will be sending to the schools. All of your other social media profiles should be "clean" and present the best version of you, since adcom members may look at them.
16) Optional - Support Letters(Suggested by ARINGO) – If you know students or alumni from the schools you will be applying to, approach them, and ask them to write on your behalf a support letter. It can be short, and they need to send it directly to admissions. This may add 1-2 points (out of 100) to your candidacy. More details here:
