Hi all!
I've recently made the decision to go back to school and I need a little guidance as to how to proceed.
Some background - I currently work at a local children's hospital as a registered nurse in Austin. I've been debating between going back to school for a long time and after years of considering my options, I've decided that I wanted to pursue an MBA. What really interested me in going for an MBA is the diversity it holds for me in career opportunities. I enjoy being a nurse, but have found that it's a bit limiting career wise. I have a general idea of where I want to go with my MBA, but I am encouraged by the opportunity of being able expand to other careers if I find something that fits me more.
As I am looking into schools, McCombs seems like the better program for me at this time as moving and quitting work is not something that would be feasible (but of course still an option depending on whatever school accepts me!). With that said, what are the pros and cons of the two different programs? I'm researching the two and the biggest thing that has stuck out to me is how they describe the curriculum.
Full time it states: Cohort-focused curriculum with over 20 concentrations to choose from.
Evening time it states: Cohort-focused curriculum, with an emphasis on broad business management knowledge and skills
From that description alone, it makes me feel like full time allows me more opportunities to expand and explore different concentrations. Evening time appears to be more management company focused. Am I correct in those assumptions? If that's the case - I am more inclined to go for full time as opposed to evening time. And if I go for full time - what are the odds that I would still be able to work and do full time? Is that something that would be do-able or would you advise against it? (My hours are three 12 hour shifts a week, so I could possibly make it work).
I apologize for all the questions - I underlined them to help make it easier to read. I tend to ramble sometimes. Haha. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Hi! These are great questions... completing an MBA is a commitment -
Evening MBA - It is mostly focused on business foundations, you'll be able to take a few specialized electives. The biggest advantage of Evening MBA's is the network - typically your next role comes from someone in your cohort. There are career services for this program that will help if you are looking to pivot into a new field, but cannot afford to stop working for 2 years.
Full-time - 2 years, immersive, typically much more diverse cohort, strong focus on a specialization(s) - typically the majority of your credits will be focused in that area, versus a few in the Evening MBA. You will have a strong relationship with the career center in finding an internship and full-time job. So the internship is key in pivoting from one industry/sector to another.
