I'm at a point of dilemma with how to approach my applications and what I am presenting as my future career plans. Truthfully, I am more interested in becoming a functional expert in corporate treasury or corporate development than any specific role with a particular industry. Because of this, I am having difficulties putting my interests into context for an actual, firm career path. Certainly, a few years in management consulting or banking would be extremely valuable to land a spot as a fortune 500 treasurer in the next decade, but so would a position in a top flight management training program at a large multinational.
Because of this ambiguity, what do you guys think is a good way to approach this matter in my essays? Is it something you think I should lay out right away and address directly, or a fairly normal enough state of being that it doesn't deserve highlighting outside of the other aspects of my qualifications and profile? I'm certainly not going to sell myself as a "I've always wanted to be a consultant because blah blah blah", because, frankly, it's just not true.
Thanks
Joe
